A-Z List Database Descriptions - First Aid Forward
We know everyone does their A-Z List a little differently, and we're here to help provide a description that works for you and your users.
To provide the clearest instructions to users, we recommend sharing the registration instructions you received from us during onboarding. If you did not receive instructions, email us at CustomerSuccess@mheducation.com.

Faculty
Faculty should follow the instructions above to gain access to First Aid Forward content. If they would also like access to the admin dashboard, where they can view student activity and performance, they should email the First Aid Forward administrator at their institution or CustomerSuccess@mheducation.com (Customer Success will validate their instructor role before providing access).
Troubleshooting Tips
- First Aid Forward is part of McGraw Hill medical: users with accounts in First Aid Forward, Boards & Beyond, and/or Access medical will be able to gain access to these products using one set of "McGraw Hill Account" credentials. Resetting the password for one of these site(s) will reset it for the others.
- First Aid Forward uses email domain match as its authentication method. Users must register using their institutional email address. If your users have difficulty, email CustomerSuccess@mheducation.com and we will double-check that we have all appropriate email domains and subdomains on file (e.g. @student.university.edu is different than @university.edu and we need to have both on file).
- Users must reverify their account every 180 days.
- For most users, this will happen seamlessly--they will sign in at the Step 1 or Step 2 link, and the site will send them an email to reverify their account.
- The 180 day authentication period is static (e.g. authentication is not rolling): users have 180 days of access from when they create or reverify their account.
- If your institution purchases Step 1 and Step 2, users can gain access to both. To gain access to both products, they will register for each product separately using the same email address. They'll then have access to both products on one First Aid Forward account.
- If they registered for both products, they can switch between them using the dropdown (show me).
- Users will need to reverify their access to both products, meaning they will need to sign in at the Step 1 and the Step 2 link. Their 180 day access period may not be synced, so they may "lose access" to one product and maintain access to the other. They just need to sign in using the specific Step 1 or Step 2 link.
